Daniel Murphy and the rest of the New York Mets reach the World Series in a little different fashion in this clip – ‘Rookie of the Year’

By Robby Sabo

Does it get anymore classic than this?

First we have the whole Back to the Future ordeal that allowed Chicago Cubs fans to actually think their team could win the World Series in 2015. Then, for good measure, Rookie of the Year picked up some play once realizing the Cubs’ opponent in the NLCS would be the New York Mets.

OK, so perhaps the movie didn’t go as far as the NLCS (only the division championship), but it was too similar to ignore.

Now, to put it all together, and thanks to Daniel Murphy’s outrageous performance, Bleacher Report has provided us with a classic clip playing off the movie (video above).
