5. Lucas Duda, David Wright Returning

The Mets were never considered to have a great offensive team this season, but the one constant, over the years, has been the presence of David Wright in the middle of the order.

In 2015 Wright went down the a back injury that has limited him to a total of 33 at-bats. While David has been on the decline in production over the last few seasons he was still expected to be a cornerstone offensive player in 2015.

Lucas Duda is leading the Mets with 21 home runs on the year and was a fixture in the heart of the order for all of 2015.  He also went down with a back injury and has been missing in the Mets lineup since August 10th.

Both of these bats should be returning in the next couple weeks and it will be like the Mets made two huge trades for the stretch run.

Prior to the season the Mets were all pitch and no hit.  After a few trades and adding back two important bats, this team will have the bats to go with the arms.
