With the New York Yankees in need of a serious spark, they’ve called up prospect Greg Bird for the last game against the Indians.
First Luis Severino, now Greg Bird. Who do these guys think they are, the Mets?
Actually, these are the New York Yankees, the new Yankees led by Brian Cashman who now desperately wants to turn this roster around and infuse much needed youth. This is why the prospect (Bird) was called up on Thursday and penciled into the Bronx Bombers lineup for tonight’s game, the final one, against the Cleveland Indians.

The 22-year old will play first-base and bat seventh in the lineup.
He’ll look to spark a lineup who has only scored a meager eight runs in their last 10 played. Nate Eovaldi (11-2, 4.15 ERA) is hoping for a little run support as he opposes Trever Bauer (9-8, 4.06 ERA).
First pitch comes your way at 7:10 PM ET on WPIX.
