New York Yankees

Looking to keep their comfy lead in the AL East, the New York Yankees look to make it two in a row on the South Side of Chicago.

At 58-44, the New York Yankees currently hold a comfortable six-game lead over the 52-50 Baltimore Orioles in the AL East. It’s a lead Brian Cashman doesn’t want to see fall by the wayside, despite his inactivity on MLB Trade Deadline day.

Looking to help keep the Yanks strong lead intact will be righty Bryan Mitchell (0-0, 2.89 ERA) who’ll get the call tonight in Chicago to take on John Danks (5-8, 4.97 ERA) and the White Sox.

Mitchell is being forced into a start due to the recent injury hits of Michael Pineda and Ivan Nova.

The lineup looks to have the usual suspects aside from Brian McCann. Chris Young will start in right-field with the lefty Danks on the mound.

First-baseman Mark Teixeira will hit in his usual cleanup spot and attempt to build off of Friday night’s monster of a game:

First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 PM ET from the Windy City.
