On a day which featured Sandy Alderson snagging Yoenis Cespedes, the New York Mets will now welcome in the Nationals to Citi Field.
It’s funny. For the first time maybe ever, a game that features the tagline “Harvey Day” isn’t all about one Matt Harvey.
Instead, all the buzz is about newly acquired slugging outfielder Yoenis Cespedes.
Regardless, Harvey (9-7, 3.16 ERA) and the New York Mets (52-48) will go up against Gio Gonzalez (8-4, 3.83 ERA) and the first place Washington Nationals (54-46).

Although the Tigers are currently in Baltimore, it is doubtful that Cespedes will be in the Mets lineup tonight. Still, though, you can watch past highlights and get acquainted with how the man absolutely creams the baseball:

Entering Friday night’s game the Nats are currently three games up on the Mets for the NL East lead.
First pitch is slated for 7:10 PM ET at Citi Field and can be viewed on SNY TV.
