New York Mets

Noah Syndergaard will get the ball tonight as his New York Mets welcome in James Shields and the San Diego Padres to Citi Field.

What a difference a week makes. Suddenly, after the acquisitions of Juan Uribe, Kelly Johnson and Tyler Clippard, the New York Mets feel rejuvenated. They’ll look to keep a short two game winning streak alive tonight as they welcome in the San Diego Padres.

Noah Syndergaard (4-5, 2.97 ERA) will matchup with James Shields (8-3, 3.77 ERA).

Speaking of the newly acquired Clippard, the Mets have unveiled his jersey number to fans.

Uribe will start at third-base and hit fifth with Daniel Murphy shifting back to second. Michael Conforto will play left and hit sixth in the lineup.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 pm ET.
