New York Mets reliever Jenrry Mejia has now been suspended the full 162-games due to a positive PED test by Major League Baseball.

There are only a few who could actually earn the title “World-Renowned” idiot.

One of these guys is former New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith. His silly actions over the years have warranted such acclaim.

Today, another guy has topped that very list in the form of New York Mets reliever Jenrry Mejia. Mejia has now been suspended 162-games by Major League Baseball due to his second positive test for Performance Enhancing Drugs.

Mejia received an 80-game suspension in April. One that had already banned him from 2015 postseason play.

Most speculated this is why Sandy Alderson was so quick to go out and acquire Tyler Clippard from the Oakland Athletics. Perhaps, this newest ban was the real reason.

Whether or not this marks the end of Mejia’s career with the Mets remains to be seen. If you’re a betting man, go with the idea that the 25-year old flamethrower is done in New York.
