New York Mets

With Steven Matz now on the shelf with a messed up lat, the New York Mets begin a three-game set with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

It seems no matter what happens, the New York Mets can never enjoy nice shiny new toys.

The talk of the town, lefty phenom Steven Matz, has a partially torn lat muscle and won’t be able to begin throwing again for at least three-weeks, via Adam Rubin of ESPN.

Nevertheless, the Mets will begin a three-game set against the Arizona Diamonbacks at Citi Field tonight. Noah Syndergaard, A.K.A. Thor, will go to the hill for Terry Collins.
