Yankees great Paul O’Neill gets star struck as he asks Jimmy Fallon for a photo of the two while in the stands at Yankee Stadium.
By Michael Iuzzini
During the 7th inning last night’s game between the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Philles, Paul O’Neill, acted as if Santa Claus came to town.
O’Neill, who was once the go to guy at the plate for the Yanks, instead was a little star struck as he approached Jimmy Fallon of the Tonight Show to orchestrate a picture of the two.
It all came after Yankees broadcaster Michael Kay dared O’Neill to approach Fallon, who can regularly be seen behind Yankee Stadium home plate.
O’Neill struck gold.
Not only was the former Saturday Night Live star in the picture, but Lorne Michaels and mayor Rudy Giuliani was in the photo as well.
Unfortunately, the Yankees fell to the Phillies 11-6, keeping them two-games back behind the Rays.
