This afternoon the New York Mets will look to take their second straight against the Atlanta Braves with stud Jacob deGrom on the mound.

Despite all the current negativity surrounding this New York Mets (33-29) club, the sit in first-place of the NL East.
Remarkable, considering the injuries and setbacks from half of the lineup and rough patch coming from face of the franchise, Matt Harvey.
Where they continue to count their lucky stars comes from the rest of the starting rotation, Jacob deGrom especially.
deGrom (7-4, 2.42 ERA) will head to the mound today looking to continue his home dominance. During his last 13 starts at Citi Field, deGrom sports a filthy 10-1 record and 1.30 ERA.
New York’s negativity was gaining steam after going through a stretch that included a 2-6 record and being no-hit by San Francisco Giants unknown Chris Heston.
However, after a solid 5-3 victory last night, coupled with a Michael Cuddyer walk-off in the final game against the defending champs has righted the ship.
Today, deGrom will go up against Braves starter Shelby Miller, who is also enjoying his version of ridiculous success in 2015. Miller is currently 5-2 with an obscene 1.84 ERA.
The Mets are not only looking to start a winning streak with potentially their third straight win today, but are looking to continue this NL East dominance they’ve enjoyed.
Marks like 22-11 overall and 16-5 at home within the division is a major reason for why they sit atop the NL East at the moment. Additionally, they haven’t beaten Atlanta this many consecutive games (six) since 1985.
First pitch is slated for 4:10 pm ET on WPIX.
