Every so often an athlete with god given gifts is bestowed upon us. This is the case for New York Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon.

It doesn’t happen often, but when it does we take notice.

Seemingly every generation gets one guy that rocks our world with incredible god given talents. Athletic talents that feature skill, quickness, smarts and absolute grace.

It’s taken a while for us to realize we’ve had one in our presence for close to two decades, but now we know.

New York Mets starting pitcher Bartolo Colon is one of these athletes who keeps amazing us start in and start out.

Check out the sheer athleticism on display as he clubbed his first double of the season on Sunday as his New York Mets hosted the Miami Marlins:

As Marlins center-fielder Ichiro Suzuki took a bad angle, we as fans actually knew extra bases for the big man was a possibility.

OK, so if it had been Juan Legares, we might be talking inside the park home run. In any event, Colon knocked in catcher Anthony Recker and helped his own cause while picking up his MLB leading 8th win of the season.
