What better news could come the day after a New York Yankees comeback, walk-off win? How about some positive injury updates from some big sluggers?
The New York Yankees are getting the job done without some big names. However, these big names might be back sooner than we anticipated.
According to multiple reports, Didi Gregorius and Giancarlo Stanton are starting to make steps towards potential returns in the next month.

The Yankees have been very hush on the true nature of Giancarlo Stanton’s injury that landed him on the IL on April Fool’s Day (no joke). With an initial diagnosis of a Grade 1 left biceps strain and cryptic mumbles from manager Aaron Boone, it was determined that Stanton’s injury was far worse than anticipated.
Determined to be a strained left shoulder, Stanton has been participating in limited baseball activities for quite some time now. However, it sounds like he might just be on the mend.
Reports indicate that Stanton could see some game action as soon as Monday down in Tampa. Coley Harvey of ESPN.com gave an update on his latest endeavor, which included facing some live pitching.
Giancarlo Stanton has been facing live pitching in Tampa as he goes through rehab for his shoulder. Aaron Boone says he was hit in the knee yesterday, but checked out OK. He’ll face more live pitching today, in hopes of starting a rehab assignment Monday with the High-A Tarpons.

Another man on the shelf has been Didi Gregorius. Upon recovering from Tommy John surgery this offseason, Gregorius has been spending his time behind the lens. However, he might make an appearance in front of it sooner than we expected.
Gregorius was originally expected to be back in July but it sounds like his return date could be pushed up much sooner. According to multiple reports, Gregorius will participate in extended spring training, much like Aaron Hicks did earlier this month.
Didi Gregorius was originally going to play as a DH in an extended spring training game Monday, but he’ll now play at SS. It’s a sign he’s progressing well in Tommy John rehab. Aaron Boone said it’s fair to expect him back in June.

Oh, what marvelous news to wake up to! The Yankees are in first place once again. They are winning games in ways nobody imagined they would with their bargain bin finds. And now, two key players will be beginning their trek back to the Bronx.
Now the only way today could get any better is if the Yankees extend their division lead with another victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.
