Former New York Jets wideout Terrelle Pryor has been arrested in Pittsburgh following an incident in which he was stabbed on Friday night.

More information has been revealed regarding the incident with former New York Jets wideout Terrelle Pryor. It was initially reported on Friday night that Pryor was a victim of a stabbing to his shoulder and chest. The altercation apparently took place in his Pittsburgh apartment, as he underwent emergency surgery on Saturday morning.

Now, it looks like Pryor was illegally involved in the stabbing, as Pittsburgh police have arrested and charged him with Simple Assault. Police have deemed Pryor as a mutual combatant along with 24-year-old Shalaya Briston of Munhall, Pennsylvania. They’ve also arrested her and have additionally charged her with Criminal Homicide Attempt and Aggravated Assault.

Police believe Briston also received injuries during the event of the altercation.

The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police noted that they wouldn’t be available for comment regarding the case. It’s unclear what the bond release would be for either Pryor or Briston.

Family and loves ones were by Pryor’s side following his surgery on Saturday morning. They believe he’s going to survive the stabbing.

At 30 years old, Pryor hasn’t been in the league since the Jacksonville Jaguars released him in early September. It came three days after he hit the injured reserve list on Aug. 31. He hasn’t played in a game since 2018 when he experienced his short-lived tenure with the Buffalo Bills.

Along with the Jets and Bills, Pryor has played in regular-season games with the Oakland Raiders, Cleveland Browns, and Washington Redskins.
