All-Pro safety Jamal Adams addressed his current relationship with the New York Jets heading into their Week 5 matchup.

Just like that, the New York Jets are 0-3 coming out of their bye week. The Jets had great potential entering this season with a new head coach, an up-and-coming quarterback, and multiple big-name free agent acquisitions. That same team is still yet to win a ballgame, with losses to the Bills, Browns, and Patriots.

The bad start has also come with a little drama. All-Pro safety Jamal Adams took any mention of them out of his social media bios. People thought that just maybe, Adams would end up requesting a trade from Gang Green. However, heading into their Week 5 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, Adams is clearing things up.

“We’re good. Obviously, I see a lot of people and I hear it, people saying that the Jets should trade me and all this,” Adams said this week on the Rich Eisen Show. “I’m not focused on that. I’m a New York Jet. I’m excited to be here.

“I’m focused on the team right now, I’m focused on trying to better myself for the team…Any time I step on the field I’m going to give it my all, and as long as I can do that, that’s just what I bring to the game, and what I can do to keep the energy up on the field. We’ve just got to stay healthy and continue to bring the energy like we’re always doing and stick together as a group, and we’ll be fine.”

Adams has to be the staple of this defense, especially with linebacker C.J. Mosley still nursing a groin injury. The setback could keep the free-agent acquisition sidelined this Sunday against Philadelphia.

The third-year pro has combined for 14 tackles with two passes defended and one pick-six thus far in 2019. The Jets and Eagles will kick off this Sunday in Philadelphia at 1:00 p.m. ET.
