NBA 2K20 may have revealed a new Brooklyn Nets home floor design for the 2019-2020 season.

The rollout for NBA 2K20 has been mixed, to say the least. As always, player rankings stirred up quite the fuss among the NBA community. Plus, according to dedicated gamers, the game itself was plagued with slow loading, abrupt crashes, and of course, hilarious animations.

Although the glitches were frustrating, there is a silver lining for fans of the Brooklyn Nets. NBA 2K20 features an interesting court design at Barclays Center. The Nets have given no indication that this court will be used at all by Brooklyn during the regular season.

Obviously, a couple of things stand out. The grey flooring is a major switch up from the traditionalist tan wood flooring. I, personally, absolutely love the “Brooklyn Nets” lettering at both baselines. The typeface is slick and choosing to offset this lettering is creative from a graphic design standpoint. For comparison, here is a picture of Brooklyn’s old logo found on the City Edition court design:

My biggest gripe with this 2K20 design (outside of the grey flooring) is the placement of the blue Barclays logos near the jump circle. They stick out greatly… and not in a good way.

It’s worth noting that this court design isn’t the only one drawing attention. American Airlines Center in Dallas features a tribute to Dirk Nowitzki on the hardwood. However, according to Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban wouldn’t confirm the homage to Nowitzki.

Keep an eye out this season. There could be a new court design in Brooklyn.
