The injury bug continues to be a pesky little fly for the New York Yankees as DJ LeMahieu and Gio Urshela go down on Sunday.

The New York Yankees have been dismantled by injuries this year and they just keep on coming.

Before the Yankees swept the San Francisco series, two players left the game early with injuries. DJ LeMahieu exited with right knee inflammation and Gio Urshela leaft after being hit by a pitch on the hand in Sunday’s series finale.

MLB’s Bryan Hoch said that X-rays came back negative for DJ, which is a sign of relief for the hurting Yankees.

John Heyman of MLB Network also stated that Urshela’s X-Rays came back negative as well.

Finally, some good news for the Bronx Bombers after the crazy number of players currently on the IL. The Yankees currently have a league-leading 13 players on the IL this season and two more players would have devastated the Yankees even more.

This Yankee team has been resilient though, only sitting one and a half games behind the AL East-leading Tampa Bay Rays. The determination behind this team is incredible and it has to come down to the brilliant coaching staff, as well as that next up attitude being shown by anyone who gets the call.

This team is surely something; just imagine if the healthy bug wanted to make an appearance this year.

I have been a passionate sports fan my whole life. It started from when my parents would take me every year to Yankee Stadium for Old Timer's Day. I enjoy all sports but baseball is my favorite. I am a proud father of a beautiful little girl and manager at AT&T.
