The tension between the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers boiled over in Game 4, resulting in ejections of Jared Dudley and Jimmy Butler.

Brooklyn Nets forward Jared Dudley is a veteran’s veteran. The wily forward was having his best game of the series before he was ejected in the third quarter. Following a Joel Embiid flagrant foul on Jarrett Allen, Dudley charged Embiid and shoved him.

Jimmy Butler followed that up by shoving Dudley and both players were ejected when all was said and done. The fracas spilled into the crowd, almost ensuring that someone was going to get tossed.

That being said, the Nets got the better of the deal. Dudley is a tremendous role player, but he’s no Jimmy Butler.

Dudley has played his role perfectly in this series. He’s spent his time getting under the skin of Embiid, Ben Simmons, Jimmy Butler, and pretty much the entire city of Philadelphia. In fact, Dudley challenged Simmons earlier in the game.

Dudley and Simmons have been trading trash talk for much of the series. That’s going to ramp up in the aftermath of this one.
