Sasha Banks and Bayley made history in Houston by taking home the first-ever Women’s Tag Team Championships at the WWE Elimination Chamber.

Sasha Banks and Bayley fought off five other women’s tag teams to take home the inaugural Women’s Tag Team Championships During Sunday night’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in Houston.

Banks and Bayley, known as the Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection, beat the following teams inside the deadly steel structure: Nia Jax and Tamina, Mandy Rose and Sonya DeVille, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce (The Iiconics), Carmella and Naomi, and Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan (The Riott Squad).

Banks and Bayley were tasked with not only kicking off the show’s main card but proved to be the iron women. They kicked off the match against Rose and DeVille and took a solid beating.

Well, that proved to just be WWE setting up for the big payoff. After just getting out of the way of Jax running at and subsequently through a pod, Banks and Bayley worked in sync. The rest of the way, working together the whole time, they sent the match into overdrive.

First, they worked together with Rose & DeVille to eliminate Tamina and Nia via pinfall. Soon after, following Banks’ timely kick out of Rose’s pin attempt, Bayley hit an elbow drop on DeVille. Banks then locked in a modified Bank Statement, and DeVille had no choice but to tap out.

That said, what’s next for Hug ‘n’ Boss Connection? It’s tough to say. They’ll appear on Monday Night Raw tomorrow night, but the rest is unclear. Will they have a lengthy title run? Will Sasha Banks turn on Bayley or vice versa?
