WWE superstars Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch walk away as winners after the 2019 Royal Rumble.

Professional wrestling fans roared at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona as former WWE Champion Seth Rollins last eliminated Braun Strowman to win the 2019 Men’s Royal Rumble. Earlier in the evening, former Smackdown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch was the surprise winner of the women’s tilt.

Lynch, who lost her championship match to current title holder Asuka earlier in the evening, entered the women’s Rumble as the 28th entrant. She replaced “The Ravishing Russian,” Lana, who hurt her ankle on the kickoff show as her husband Rusev lost his United States Championship to Shinsuke Nakamura.

Lynch entered and eliminated rival Charlotte Flair to win the match.

Now, “The Irish Lasskicker” is expected to face Raw Women’s Champion and UFC legend Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania in April. The two were set to face off at Survivor Series last November, but Lynch missed the event with a concussion.

On the men’s side, Seth Rollins entered the match as the tenth man. He lasted a grand total of 57 minutes and 35 seconds before eliminating Braun Strowman with a curb stomp. He is now expected to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania. Earlier in the evening, Lesnar made challenger Finn Balor tap out to a Kimura lock.

Both Rumble matches also featured a number of surprise entrants, including Jeff Jarrett and NXT Superstars Johnny Gargano and Aleister Black. One way or another, after tonight, WrestleMania should be quite the barnburner.

WrestleMania takes place at MetLife Stadium on April 7.
