The New York Giants may have looked dead last year during their 3-13 season but now they are dealing with death firsthand when a body was discovered at Janoris Jenkins’ house on Tuesday.

Yes, you read that right. The New York Giants are now dealing with a dead body that was discovered at the home of cornerback Janoris Jenkins.

The news was first reported by TMZ Sports on Tuesday morning with updates being given as soon as more news broke. While a body of a deceased male was found in his basement, it was confirmed by TMZ Sports that Janoris Jenkins was out of town at the time of the discovery.

The latest update came at 1:52 PM when TMZ Sports reported that the Bergen County Prosecutors’ Office had determined the body was a male that was not Jenkins.

Jenkins’ home is located in Fair Lawn, NJ and is being searched currently by the Major Crimes Unit.

This is shocking news for both New York Giants fans and the football world. The last time they heard of something this incredibly disturbing was back when Aaron Hernandez was arrested and charged with the murder of Odin Lloyd.

Jenkins put together a solid year at cornerback for the Giants in 2017, despite only playing in nine games. Jenkins tallied three interceptions for 113 yards and two touchdowns. In terms of tackling, he had 26 tackles and four assisted tackles on the season.

Naturally, there will be an investigation and depending on the findings, the Giants might very well find themselves without Jenkins to fill the cornerback slot.

According to Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com, the Giants are “aware of and monitoring the situation.”

Wow. This could get very interesting very quickly depending on the stories that come out. We’re sending out endless thoughts and prayers to the victim’s family.
