New York Yankees: Gleyber Torres with another walk-off hit (Video)

What can’t New York Yankees stud rookie second baseman Gleyber Torres do for this team? He continues to do nothing but impress.

Gleyber Torres was at it again for the New York Yankees.

After committing two errors in the field, he came up in a big spot in the 10th inning with a chance to send Yankee fans home happy, and he did just that.

Miguel Andujar got things started after a great at-bat against Brad Peacock. The at-bat resulted in a double and chance for Torres to win it. Torres would take a pitch into right field for a single, positioned perfectly for Andujar to come home and score the winning run.

As the season has progressed, he has shown that he has the ability to come up big in the clutch. The hit was Torres’ second career walk-off hit, the other came on May 6 against the Cleveland Indians. He also had the go-ahead hit against the Astros on May 3 in Houston.

The win was the Yankees fifth walk-off victory of the season, which leads the American League.

They also became the only team in 2018 to win a game where they trailed by multiple runs to start the ninth inning.

Make no mistake, Torres had a rough night Tuesday. But, as he told MLB Networks’ Tom Verducci, “baseball always got another opportunity.”

With the win, the Yankees improved to 34-17 on the season. It was their fourth win against the Astros this season, which feels good considering that they were the team to eliminate the Bombers a season ago.

As the season goes on, you can just feel the magic surrounding this team. You haven’t really felt that kind of magic (outside of last year) since the run they had during the 2009 season, and we all know how that year ended.

Torres and the Yankees will try and go for the season series victory Wednesday night. Ace Luis Severino will take the ball for the Yankees, he’ll go against left-hander Dallas Keuchel.
