The New York Jets may have a discipline issue within their ranks. Saquon Barkley says he feels Jets fans.

I thought the New York Jets were away from the Rex Ryan circus at 1 Jets Drive. Apparently not after the latest report involving linebacker Dylan Donahue.

In case you missed it, Donahue had a minor traffic violation (insert sarcasm) on Monday morning that could’ve taken multiple innocent lives and even himself.

Per ESPN’s Rich Cimini: “Donahue was arrested and charged with DWI and reckless driving after going the wrong way through the Lincoln Tunnel and crashing head-on into a jitney bus early Monday morning, according to Port Authority Police in New York/New Jersey.”

Jesus H. Christ…

If only this was the lone distraction the Jets have encountered this offseason. According to Cimini, this is the Jets’ fourth arrest in the last nine months. The others: Robby Anderson (twice) and Rashard Robinson.

It may be time for hard loving Todd Bowles to crack the whip. Donahue could’ve killed people over his reckless decision. It’s time for Bowles and the team to cut bait!

Barkley’s True Colors Are Green and White

On a much more light-hearted note, Penn State star Saquon Barkley, believe it or not, grew up as a Jets fan.

“I’ll probably be a little more shy ’cause I was a Jets fan growing up, a true, true Jets fan,” Barkley tells Steve Serby of New York Post. “There’s been some rough years, there’s been some good years, been really close a couple of years with the Mark Sanchez Era, two years in a row AFC Championship, falling short.”

Barkley even expressed a desire to play for the green and white and even pointed to Pro Football Hall of Famer Curtis Martin as one of his idols growing up.

If I’m the Jets I likely don’t trade up for Barkley, but if he’s there at six, I might be tempted. Heck, the Jets have benefited from taking the best player available the last two years—Jamal Adams (2017) and Leonard Williams (2016)—so why not do it a third time?

Speaking of the NFL Draft, I’m releasing my annual Mock Draft in a new way this year. Every Monday on my afternoon radio show ‘Drive Time Sports’, I’ll release an updated version. Here are my top-five picks:

Other Jets News, Stories:

  • ESNY’s Robby Sabo and Paul Esden Jr. unveiled a new series that puts together the perfect Jets team after free agency and the NFL Draft. On Sunday, they started with the quarterbacks.
  • Surprise running back could jump-start Jets offense (Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News).
People call me Boy Green for my unwavering dedication to all things New York Jets. I work at The Score 1260 in Syracuse and I'm extremely passionate about sports. I aspire to continue my rise through the business and hopefully I'll end up working for the New York Jets in some capacity.
