Giancarlo Stanton arrives at Yankees camp early, addresses media (Video)

With Giancarlo Stanton arriving to New York Yankees spring training early, the media came in droves just to hear what the slugger had to say. Is he ready or not for the spotlight in the Bronx?

When Giancarlo Stanton pulled into the New York Yankees training complex in Tampa, FL on Friday morning, everyone stopped what they were doing and immediately took notice. Acquiring the reigning NL MVP seemed like a dream but once he stepped foot at George M. Steinbrenner field, the dream became a reality.

Right as he arrived, he was swamped by the media and tried his hand at handling the New York media. Luckily, it seems as though Stanton isn’t even fazed by the outpouring of attention coming his way.

When asked why he has officially arrived to camp a few days early, he replied, “getting my bearings, man. Getting used to the time change, getting used to getting up early, get used to Tampa really and, you know, my new teammates.”

Right off the bat (no pun intended) it seems as though Stanton has fit right in. From his first Twitter exchange with Aaron Judge to his picture with Judge at the annual Baseball Writers’ Association of America awards dinner, he’s already connected with his teammates.

He went on to tell reporters that that he is most excited about “really connecting with these guys” and “bouncing ideas, getting new information and getting in this winning culture.”

We have yet to see how Stanton does in the Bronx but I assume that “winning culture” and Yankee Stadium will treat him well.

When asked also about Judge and the other power hitters in the lineup, Stanton answered with a giant smirk which caused guys and girls to swoon across the world. We are truly blessed, my friends.

So how does he feel being a New York Yankee? “It’s going to be fun, Stanton told reporters.

Yes, Giancarlo, it is going to be fun for sure.
