New York Jets Daily: Diddy, Patriots

Is a certain hip hop mogul going to buy the New York Jets? One congressman has given his two cents on the matter.

Lets first start with the trending story that is fun and provocative. We all know the New York Jets are owned by the Johnson family, specifically Woody, but currently, the day-to-day operations are being handled by his brother Christopher.

It’s hard to judge with his control only lasting one season so far, but things appear to be headed in the right direction. If there’s any question about that, perhaps Jets fans should focus their attention on the team getting a new owner, like Diddy perhaps?

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs initially threw his name into the ring for the Panthers sale after Carolina’s owner Jerry Richardson’s interesting exchanges with former female employees. While Diddy still hopes his collection of buyers can make that happen, there is another option.

Well, according to one congressman anyway. Democratic Congressman Gregory Meeks suggested perhaps he should focus his talents up north on a different team per TMZ:

“That would be fantastic,” Meeks noted in a recent run-in with TMZ. “All ownership in all professional sports needs to be more diverse.” But, the congressman would go on to note a potential tweak to Diddy’s plan, suggesting that he’d love to see the multi-millionaire try his hand at revamping a team in New York. “Now, I would be rooting against him because I’m a New York Giants fan. I wish he was looking at maybe a New York team,” he joked. “Maybe he could turn the Jets around.”

Not a bad idea. The Jets could use a new infusion of youth and an outside perspective, perhaps Diddy can help this team break their playoff drought.

Speaking of records, for the eighth time Tom Brady and Bill Belichick will be heading to the Super Bowl. My question is, when is this all going to stop?

Every year I formulate plans and have endless amounts of hope and faith that this will finally be the year the Jets take out the Patriots and stop the madness. But alas, 2017 was a bad mouthwash commercial, ‘rinse, wash, and repeat’.

I just can’t take it anymore. I was thoroughly enjoying the Patriots as they were losing 28-3 to the Atlanta Falcons in last year’s title game. But of course, the Patriots would come back and win. Of course, soon after hoisting the Lombardi, the Patriots would get ‘Blitz for Six’ patented by the US Trademark Offices.

Now they’re on the cusp of tying the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most world championships in NFL history. Just think about this for a second: Terry Bradshaw has four rings and Big Ben Roethlisberger has two rings. Brady has the chance to have six rings with a win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Minneapolis.

*Initiate gag reflex.* But as I said on social media, the Philadelphia Eagles are our last chance to defeat the Evil Empire before it’s too late. Hopefully, Nick Foles can be Brady’s kryptonite.
