It’s official, New York Yankees fans. Giancarlo Stanton is coming to the Bronx.

Merry early Christmas, New York Yankees fans! Giancarlo Stanton, the NL home run king, will be taking his talents to the Bronx.

The deal was reported earlier this morning by Jon Heyman who confirmed that the deal was in place.

Since then, details are in the process of emerging and we’re just waiting on confirmation from both clubs to make it official. It seems as though the package will include at least one veteran and several prospects to net the big fish.

Speculation about the deal being completed turned Twitter into a madhouse last evening, as fan consistently refreshed the website until wee hours of the morning to hear about the makings of this trade.

Joel Sherman also reported this morning that Starlin Castro is likely the veteran to be headed down to Miami in the trade. Chase Headley, Brett Gardner and Jacoby Ellsbury were also names thrown into the mix to complete this blockbuster trade.

Just days after Shohei Ohtani declined the Yankees’ presentation in lieu of signing with the Los Angeles Angels, it seemed the Yankees weren’t going to do much. It looks like they’ve adjusted that stance in favor of the potential to get Stanton.

28-year-old Stanton batted .281 last season in Miami while belting 59 home runs and driving in 132, both career-highs for the outfielder in 159 games played. He also boasted a .631 slugging percentage, good for first in the MLB last season.

Just days ago, this all seemed like a pipe dream. Having Aaron Judge, Gary Sanchez and Stanton in the same lineup? Talk about Murder’s Row 2.0.

We’ll keep you up to date on the latest developments in this trade and official confirmation when both clubs have confirmed. Stay tuned, which I’m sure you will with the prospect of getting Stanton looms ever closer.
