Today’s Brooklyn Nets news features former Boston Celtic Tyler Zeller working out for the team.

Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders reported Friday that along with Jared Sullinger, Tyler Zeller worked out for the Nets recently.

Brooklyn has been searching for a big man to join Timofey Mozgov and rookie Jarrett Allen at the center position.

Zeller played 51 games for the Boston Celtics last season, where he averaged 3.5 points and 2.4 rebounds on a lowly 10 minutes per game.

In order to clear cap space for Gordon Hayward, the Celtics cut Zeller this summer. He was set to make $8-million next year.

After a very productive first three seasons, Zeller’s productivity declined the last two years due to injury and minute restrictions.

For a secondary or reserve center, he may be just what Brooklyn needs to advance their depth at the five. With the cap space left to sign one more player, and a center the top priority, expect to hear news on Sullinger or Zeller in the following weeks.
