The New York Yankees have announced that they have traded RHP prospect Yefry Ramirez to the Baltimore Orioles.
It may not have been the trade New York Yankees fans were expecting, but the team announced that they’ve traded Double-A right-hander Yefry Ramirez in exchange for international bonus pool money.
The 23-year-old went 10-3 with the Thunder this season while registering a 3.41 ERA across 18 starts. Although he’s not ranked on the Yankees Top-30 prospects list by MLB Pipeline, this trade does open a spot on the Yankees’ 40-man roster.
Ramirez was signed as international free agent by Diamondbacks, Jan. 25, 2011 and was selected in the Rule 5 minor league draft on Dec. 10, 2015. Across 98 career games, he posted a 1.148 WHIP.
