Amed Rosario is a five-tool player, one that will have an instant impact, both offensively and defensively. He’s been crushing the ball for Triple-A Las Vegas, hitting .328 with 33 extra-base hits (seven home runs), 58 RBI and a .833 OPS in 94 games.
Rosario became a fan favorite long before his arrival in the majors. He’s made no secret of his belief that he was ready for the big show and coined the Twitter hashtag #DontBeSurprisedBeReady.
This promotion is long overdue. Finally, the Mets seem ready to look toward the future, a future in which Rosario is sure to play a big part. and it is time for the Mets to turn the page and get younger and faster.
Per Tyler Kepner of the New York Times, Alderson indicated that the team’s second-best prospect, first baseman Dominic Smith, won’t be too far behind Rosario in getting the call.
