Curtis Granderson, general manager? We’re about to see how the Grandyman fares in negotiations, as he’s in trade talks with the Tampa Bay Rays for his Instagram account, #WeFollowLucasDuda.
By now you’ve heard that Thursday night, the New York Mets traded Lucas Duda to the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for minor league reliever Drew Smith.
Odds are that you’ve also seen Curtis Granderson‘s reaction to the news. He grabbed hold of Duda’s leg, repeating “don’t go, don’t go” as Duda tried leaving the visitor’s clubhouse in San Diego.

Well, the Rays aren’t satisfied with just having the slugger. They want Granderson’s Instagram account as well. It’s a transaction that the veteran outfielder is willing to consider, though he’s asking Mets fans what he should get in return.
Let's make a deal, @cgrand3. ?

We'll be back to you about #WeFollowLucasDuda before the trade deadline. @Mets fans, what do we want in exchange? https://t.co/FuGHSgCPbn

So what will the Grandyman be able to extract from the notoriously frugal franchise? Tickets to a game? Chris Archer? Evan Longoria? A promise that the Rays will trade for him before Monday’s non-waiver trade deadline so he can still play with Duda?
More than likely, it’ll wind up being a donation to his Grand Kids Foundation. But at least the Grandyman and the Rays are having some fun with the whole thing.
