The New York Yankees may have a potential solution to their first base woes in the form of Marlins’ first baseman Justin Bour.

According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the New York Yankees have been actively pursuing a trade for Marlins’ first baseman Justin Bour.

However, Miami is not very willing to trade the left-handed slugger unless they get a valuable package in return due to Bour being under team control through the 2020 season.

The first baseman is currently slashing .286/.363/.909 with 19 home runs and 56 RBI’s this season with a Marlins club who has failed to come into their own.

A player like Bour could be one of the final pieces of the puzzle for New York this season, especially considering how poorly the production has been from the team’s first basemen.

New York ranks at the bottom of the list when it comes to batting average from first basemen in the MLB with a futile .201 batting average.

A trade between the two clubs does not seem imminent at this point, but if talks progress in a positive direction the Yankees could be bringing the powerful slugger to the Bronx this trade deadline.
