A New York Mets fan supplied some excitement with a great catch during Friday’s game against the Washington Nationals.
During the fourth inning of Friday night’s game against the Washington Nationals, a New York Mets fan made a great catch. Not a Mets player, but a fan.Nationals third baseman Anthony Rendon hit a fly ball to right field off of Steven Matz, and the fan made the play of the night.

Rendon eventually reached base on a single to left field that advanced Bryce Harper to third base.
The Mets currently trail the first-place Nationals 5-1 in the top of the ninth inning. The injury-plagued team is on their way to another loss against the Nats.
They trailed Washington by 9.5 games heading into the second game of this four-game series. It’s essential that they come through with a win the next two games.
They’re not off to a great start. Maybe they should sign that fan.
