This edition of New York Jets Gang Green Report discusses the team’s $67.9 million dump and possibly Eric Decker to the Baltimore Ravens.
Now that both David Harris and Eric Decker are gone, the New York Jets salary purge has reached epic proportions — a total of $67.9 million.
At least we thought Decker was gone.
Though he’ll eventually be gone one way or another, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports is reporting the Baltimore Ravens have contacted the Jets regarding the possibility of trading for Decker.
Jets reaching out to teams on Eric Decker, Ravens among them. Not out of the realm of possibility he's dealt. Otherwise he'll bne released

Either way, from Feb. 1 until the Tuesday news that both Harris and Decker will be gone, New York has freed itself of a whopping $67.9 million in salary commitments.
Though it’s pretty evident 2017 isn’t the real plan, Mike Maccagnan can’t admit it, via Rich Cimini of ESPN New York.
“I think our focus has been from day one to build this thing through the draft,” Maccagnan said of the massive rebuild. “We’ve obviously talked about building a young team going forward and position ourselves for success. It’s going to be a competitive roster. There’s going to be a lot of opportunities for a lot of players on this roster and that will play itself out over time. But again, we’re doing things we feel are going to help this organization both short and long term.”
For now, it’s 2018 or bust.
