New York Yankees‘ Aaron Judge took a break from hitting home runs to show off his defense on Sunday against the Rays.
[dropcap]J[/dropcap]ust when you think he can’t get any better, Aaron Judge does something to make you say “wow” again. The New York Yankees outfielder didn’t hit a home run on Sunday afternoon. It was his defense that took center stage.[sc name=”Yankees Center Right” ]On the road against the Tampa Bay Rays, the rookie star made a diving catch for the ages.
In the bottom of the sixth inning with Corey Dickerson aboard after reaching with a single, Evan Longoria unloaded on a Chad Green fastball to deep right center field.
It initially looked like Judge had taken a bad route to the ball, but overcame the read with an unbelievably beautiful catch.
He followed the by a throw to first to double off Dickerson and end the Rays scoring threat.
The Yankees won 3-2 and snapped a three-game skid, improving to 25-16 on the season. Brett Gardner homered in the second inning, his eighth of the season.
