Down 1-0 after an early Montreal Canadiens goal, New York Rangers forward Michael Grabner undresses Carey Price for the equalizer.
What a goal this was.
After falling down 1-0 early against the Montreal Canadiens in Game 2 of Round 1 of the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the New York Rangers struck back on the road. [sc name=”Rangers Center Right” ]
It was Michael Grabner, the man who went quiet during the later stages of the season, the same season that saw him tally 27 goals, grabbed the equalizer for the team wearing white.
After intercepting a pass in the defensive zone, Grabner’s speed allowed a breakaway that allowed him to completely undress all-world goaltender Carey Price (video above).
Since the goal, the Habs have retaken the lead the score remains 2-1 as the two teams rest during the first intermission. It’s been a physical game that’s seen both teams rack up close or over 20 hits apiece.
The question Rangers fans have at the moment, however, is why is Grabs rarely used in the shootout? Man, oh man, were those hands skillful on that play.
