While it may be a stretch, it seems like Martha Stewart jinxed Michael Pineda‘s perfect game on Monday against the Tampa Bay Rays.

New York Yankees starting pitcher Michael Pineda was flawless on Monday against the Rays, going perfect through almost seven innings. However, Martha Stewart might have jinxed Pineda’s date with history.

Just as soon as the tweet was posted, Pineda gave up his first hit of the ballgame. Now obviously Martha Stewart isn’t to blame for the occurrence, but I guess she doesn’t know the unwritten rule of baseball to never talk about a perfect game or no-hitter.

Up until giving up this hit in the seventh inning, Pineda was flat out dealing, retiring every Ray that came up to face the big right-hander.

While Monday might not have been Pineda’s day to make it in the history books, he still pitched magnificently while striking out 11 batters in just under eight innings pitched.

We are sure Michael Pineda isn’t mad with Martha Stewart for her risky tweet that might have jinxed his perfect game, so you shouldn’t be either.
