The New York Rangers and Henrik Lundqvist suffer a tough road loss in Anaheim but sign college free agent Vinni Lettieri.

  • New York Rangers 3 (46-26-4, 96 pts)
  • Anaheim Ducks 6 (41-23-11, 93 pts)

The New York Rangers welcomed back netminder Henrik Lundqvist with a terrible defensive showing.Hank and the defense were shelled for six goals against Anaheim. The early part of the game was a shootout with goals going back and forth until the third period when Anaheim decided to open up the flood gates. Henrik looked shaky and the defense wasn’t helping him out. Skjei, Nick Holden and Marc Staal were found out of position for many of the opposing goals while Ryan McDonagh played one of his worst a games to date.

A positive from the game was the Rangers offense. Rick Nash, Derek Stepan, and Brady Skjei (the birthday boy) were all able to find the back of the net. The Tic-Tac-Toe goal scored by Stepan was a highlight and one of the prettier goals seen all season.

The Rangers and Henrik Lundqvist look to bounce back for another road victory as they face the San Jose Sharks (42-26-7, 91 pts) on Wednesday. The Sharks are on a current six game losing streak but play a much better brand of hockey at home. Keep your eyes on Henrik to have a rebound performance and lock up another victory. With only six games remaining, Henrik must find his game for the playoffs.
