Two of the most recognized names in the history of New York sports, Derek Jeter and Joe Torre have their own ideas regarding President-elect Donald Trump.
Former New York Yankees manager as well as current chief baseball officer of MLB, Joe Torre, has a very stern opinion about President-elect Donald Trump.
Torre made it very clear at a gala in New York for his Safe at Home Foundation that he was not a fan of how Trump went on to win the presidency.
“I know (Trump). I played golf with him,” Torre said Thursday, according to the New York Daily News’ Christian Red. “I’m not a fan of the process, I don’t mind saying that. I thought there was a lot of disrespect. I wasn’t a fan of it.”
That wasn’t the only Yankees icon to discuss his thoughts about this year’s election, future hall-of-fame shortstop Derek Jeter shared his ideas as well.
“There’s been so much talk about the election, I think people are tired of hearing about the election,” Jeter also told Red. “You move on and you hope that everyone can unite. Do I know (Trump)? Yeah. I’ve known him. … He’s always treated me good, best way to put it.”
Unlike Torre, Jeter put it simply and basically said that he believes that many people are just tired of hearing about the election already and just wants to move on. He also stated that Trump has always treated him good and unlike the former manager, Jeter has no hard feelings against him.
