Riddell has unveiled a new alternate helmet design for the New York Giants, as well as the rest of the NFL.
The company Riddell has released the first NFL approved alternate helmet design for all 32 NFL teams. The New York Giants, as well as the rest of the league, had their designs recently unveiled. Giants and NFL fans can now view and purchase the new design dubbed the ICE Alternate Helmets.
“The ICE Alternate Collection is a line of NFL licensed collectible helmets that feature a matte white finish and silver decals that replicate the traditional version of all 32 NFL team helmets,” said Tyler Benson, a public relations spokesmen for Riddell. “Each helmet is available in full-size Riddell Speed Replica Helmets and Riddell Speed Mini Helmets.”
While they won’t be seen in any game action, the new model will be a collector’s item for fans. With its white and silver surface, the idea is the helmet will be ideal for obtaining clearly visible autographs from players. Regular team color schemes can make it difficult to notice signatures on helmets.
“Riddell is excited to collaborate with the NFL on this unique new line of collectible helmets,” said Riddell Vice President of Consumer Products and Business Development, Michael Oller via a company press release. “Fans are always looking for new ways to demonstrate their allegiance to their hometown team and collectors see this as a great opportunity to bolster their selection of sports memorabilia. We believe this is a winning proposition and the collection will be well received by those who follow the NFL.”
The helmet design officially became available on the company’s website on October 1.
