Sports radio host Mike Francesa takes New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo to task over Odell Beckham Jr.; McAdoo holds his own.

New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo appeared on Mike Francesa’s radio show Thursday, as he does every week. Not much usually comes from these conversations, so you haven’t missed anything if you weren’t listening. That all changed this week when Odell Beckham Jr. (who else?) became the topic of conversation.

Francesa, as cantankerous as ever, dug in and pressed the issue like no one else has yet. McAdoo’s stock everything’s fine answers weren’t enough for Mike this time. Francesa took an inflammatory tone, attempting to pull something out of McAdoo, to no avail.

“You condone his behavior is what I’m gonna take from it.”

– Mike Francesa

McAdoo did an excellent job maintaining his composure and dictating the narrative. His original calling out of Beckham Jr. opened pandora’s box, with seemingly everyone across football weighing in.

Beckham Jr. has become a target for opposing DBs, officials and league brass ever since. He hasn’t done himself any favors with his actions, but seeing his head coach defend him is a positive sign heading into Green Bay this week. The New York Giants need to get this situation under control and they appear on their way to doing that.
