New York Yankees’ rookie starting pitcher Chad Green exited tonight’s contest with the Baltimore Orioles with an elbow injury.

After giving up four runs on five hits, New York Yankees‘ rookie starter Chad Green left the contest with the Baltimore Orioles with an elbow injury.

After serving up a moonshot to Pedro Alvarez and a walk to Manny Machado, shortstop Didi Gregorius signaled to trainer Steve Donohue to come out to the mound.

Meredith Marakovits of the YES Network reported that the cause was right elbow pain. He will be examined my doctors tonight and undergo further testing.

Green entered tonight’s start with a 2-3 record with a 4.09 ERA across 11 appearances and seven starts. With the Yankees currently limited after trading Ivan Nova at the deadline and Nathan Eovaldi‘s elbow injury, Luis Severino may hop into the rotation to take Green’s spot, if he were to miss time.
