The New York Yankees have traded starting pitcher Ivan Nova to the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Nova, 29, is 7-6 on the year with a 4.90 ERA, drawing doubt as to whether teams were interested in his services.
With that said, a Pirates team desperately trying to make up ground in the NL playoff race made the move in order to bolster a questionable starting staff.
Ivan Nova to Pirates, per @JonHeyman. As of 10 minutes ago, Nova had not heard anything. “I’m still here.” Apparently not.

This puts an end to a 6.5-year tenure in the Bronx which saw Nova tally 53 wins while recording a 4.41 ERA.
