Which genius of a talent evaluator pegged Michael Conforto has a below average outfielder? #Mets pic.twitter.com/WxXiz7utSL

Who said Michael Conforto was a negative defender? The man is even making spectacular catches in center-field while in Miami.
Wow. What a catch.
What’s even more surprising, every time Michael Conforto makes a tremendous play in the outfield for his New York Mets, is that when he was being discussed as a top prospect, most pegged him as a below average fielder.
His play at the plate was all the rage when the kid was called up a season ago, not his defensive acumen.
On Sunday in Miami, however, Conforto made another phenomenal play in the field. And what’s better is that he did it in center-field, a position he’s never played before and Terry Collins is asking him to try out of necessity for the club.
In the bottom of the 1st-inning, Conforto robbed veteran Martin Prado of extra bases (video above). No player could ever catch a ball with much more of a fuller extension.
Steven Matz‘s reaction was priceless. He tried to play it cool, but showed genuine shock.
