The trade frees up $12 million in cap space for the Nets to use on free agents. It’s clear that the new regime of general manager Sean Marks and Kenny Atkinson wanted to put their imprint on the squad. Today they did.
The Nets may not be done dealing today as their will likely be many suitors for Brook Lopez.
It’s no surprise, but still unfortunate to see a fan favorite like Young go. He wasn’t a superstar, but he did a lot of things well.
Young averaged 15 points and 9 rebounds in 2015-16.
