The Brooklyn Nets‘ season is almost over, and it can’t come soon enough. Tonight they take on a playoff team on the rise, the Detroit Pistons. The two franchises are going in the exact opposite directions.
New Pistons’ boss Stan Van Gundy was active at the trade deadline, bringing in Orlando Magic swing man Tobias Harris. Since the trade, he’s been on fire averaging 33.5 minutes, 17.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists, on a slash line of .497/.389/.882. The Nets’ defense (ranked 28th in efficiency) will undoubtedly have problems with him tonight.
The Nets boast their center Brook Lopez to counter against Detroit’s superstar big man, Andre Drummond. The two couldn’t have more different games, with Lopez being one of the league’s premiere offensive centers and Drummond starring more for his defense and rebounding, but that’s what will make the matchup interesting. Lopez should struggle with the stronger Drummond in the post, but he has the experience edge against the 22-year-old.
