The Los Angeles Lakers are coming to town. Remember when that meant something to the opposing fan base?

Not anymore.

Brooklyn Nets fans don’t care about the pitiful Lakers. They just hope that their team can somehow pull off a victory tonight in a matchup between these two winless squads.

If there was ever a game where the Nets could pull one off, it would be tonight. The Lakers were 29th in total defense last season. This year’s team has taken it to new heights though. It’s not a bad defense, it’s nightmarish. Through four games they have given up an average of 116.8 PPG and forced a league-low 12.8 turnovers per game.

Much has been made about the struggles of Kobe Bryant. His shooting has been just awful, 32 FG% and 21 3P% after four games, but he won’t stop. Whether he makes or misses, at least one player on the court will put on a show tonight.

The Nets offense has been as bad as the Lakers defense. Ranked 29th in the league, Brook Lopez is the only player on the team who averages more than 12 PPG.

Bad offense against bad defense. Someone has to win. But will anyone watch?
