Jacob deGrom did what he does best tonight for his New York Mets: pitch deGrominating baseball against the Colorado Rockies.
Another night, the same script for the New York Mets.
They used dominant starting pitching, a lock-down back of the pen, and timely hitting to earn their third-straight win over the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday night, 3-0.
This time it was Jacob deGrom who played the starring role for New York. deGrom went seven innings, surrendering no runs and just two hits while striking out 10 batters.

Despite an uncharacteristic four walks, deGrom seemed to find himself early, showing his regular command unlike his previous couple starts.
It was the fourth inning in which the Mets broke through first. Michael Cuddyer (single) and Juan Uribe (double) each knocked in a run to give the Mets lone MLB All-Star the lead. Coincidentally, each hit represented the 1,500th for both veterans.
With that hit Juan Uribe has 1,500 career hits! #Mets pic.twitter.com/Hot31Tj5To

Yoenis Cespedes hit his first home run as a Met in the eighth for a little insurance.

Tyler Clippard and Jeurys Familia combined to only yield one hit as they shut the door down.
The Mets now move to 62-52, 10 games over the magical .500 mark. They also find themselves three games ahead of the second place Washington Nationals (pending their game against Clayton Kershaw and the Los Angeles Dodgers later tonight).
The Mets and Rockies will wrap up this four game series tomorrow afternoon as New York will look for the sweep.
