1authorrob3 - Introducing Meezy Maynes, Coastal Carolina's Hidden GemSimply put, Coastal Carolina University talent is everywhere.

For seven years it was seen in the form of free agent NFL quarterback Tyler Thigpen. More notably, it’s witnessed by way of professional golfer Dustin Johnson.

Furthermore, Johnson’s better half, Paulina Gretzky, symbolizes another type of talent currently viewed daily while school is in and the ladies roam freely.

But I digress.

Yes, talent from CCU has surely gone on to achieve great things in this world. Considering this, there must be some active skill at the school.

Meet Ian “Meezy” Maynes.

Maynes is a soon-to-be Coastal Carolina senior who’s rap-game has already turned quite a few heads. His rise in and around the area included a performance for WIGO at the famed Revolutions Night Club in Myrtle Beach.

WIGO – short for “Who Is Going Out” – is a prominent mobile app used by students nationwide. Ben Kaplan, a college dropout, created it as a tool for kids to more conveniently meet up with friends during their “extracurricular” hours.

On this particular night, Maynes had the crowd making sure Revos was the hot spot on WIGO.

Tunes in his current catalog include Fly, Wasted and Running.

For you Coastal Carolina students, take one long look to your left, and then to your right. Of course you’ll be staring the direction of a few students who won’t make it the full four years, but you might also just be staring at the next great thing.

Stare wisely.
