Sean Combs, A.K.A. Diddy or Puff Daddy (as most in New York City would like to remember him as), was arrested on Monday on the campus of UCLA.
According to TMZ, Diddy allegedly assaulted a UCLA football coach after he was tough on his son, defensive back Justin Combs, during practice. The official arrest went down as assault with a deadly weapon.
Combs was witness to the UCLA coach chewing out his son during a strength and conditioning drill.
In an familiar twist to these parts, this coach turns out to be Sal Alosi.
Alsi was the strength and conditioning coach who was suspended during the 2010 season for tripping cornerback Nolan Carroll, a Miami Dolphins player, after he was forced near the sidelines on a punt.
The altercation on Monday occurred when Diddy found Alosi in the coaches office at the school’s athletic facility. A kettlebell was his weapon of choice.
Bruins head coach Jim Mora Jr. had this to say following the incident, via the school’s official website:
“I’m thankful that our staff showed the level of professionalism that they did in handling this situation. This is an unfortunate incident for all parties involved. While UCPD continues to review this matter, we will let the legal process run its course and refrain from further comment at this time.”
Justin Combs is currently a red-shirt Junior cornerback for the squad. He’s appeared in seven-total games for the school.
