Tiger Woods is in the hunt to win the Masters despite an overzealous security guard running into him on the 14th hole.
The Masters are a little better when Tiger Woods is in the mix. He’s currently in a tie for sixth place, but he’s only one stroke off the lead.
But Woods had a scare on the 14th hole when a security guard slipped and collided with the four-time Masters champion. Woods came up limping after the awkward collision.

Fortunately, Woods was able to sink his birdie putt and continue a fantastic round of golf. He finished four under on the day and he is now six under for the tournament.
On the 14th hole, Tiger Woods’ drive found the second cut. Then, a security guard made contact with Tiger’s ankle after his approach through the trees.

The collision didn’t slow Tiger down. He birdied 15 before saving par on 16,17, and 18. It’s still a long way from Sunday, but Woods looks poised to make some noise over the weekend.
Francesco Molinari, Jason Day, Brooks Koepka, Adam Scott, and Louis Oosthuizen are in a five-way tie atop the leaderboard. The five golfers are seven under in a crowded field.
Even now, Tiger moves the needle more than any other golfer on the PGA Tour. Despite his recent success on the Tour, Woods still hasn’t won a major championship since 2008 when he beat Rocco Mediate in a playoff at Torrey Pines Golf Course.

Perhaps 2019 is the year that fans finally see Tiger don his Sunday red and win a green jacket. There is a lot more energy and excitement around golf when Tiger is rolling.
Woods’ long-time rival, Phil Mickelson, is quietly lurking at four under after a disappointing Friday. The lefty was one over, but he’s still in a tie for 12th place at Augusta. There is still a lot of golf left to be played.
