The New York Islanders score three unanswered goals in the third period to knock off the Florida Panthers by the final of 3-2.
- New York Islanders 3 (38-21-8)
- Florida panthers 2 (38-22-9)
- NHL, Final, Box Score
- Barclays Center, Brooklyn, NY
All the New York Islanders did on Monday night was score three goals in six minutes.
Actually, make that three goals in six minutes in the third period to comeback from a two goal deficit to knock off Jaromir Jagr and the Florida Panthers by the final of 3-2.
Kyle Okposo (18), Josh Bailey (12) and then finally Cal Clutterbuck (13) with just 1:39 to go in regulation, were the goal scorers for the Isles in that final frame.
Thomas Greiss, once again playing for the injured Jaroslav Halak, stopped 23 of the 25 shots he faced on the night.
Next up for New York will be a quick turnaround in Pittsburgh against Sidney Crosby and the Penguins on Tuesday night.
